| THE FILMMAKER | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| JOHN FERRY, writer, producer, editor and director John Ferry has been involved in the production of documentary films for over 27 years, working closely with Academy Award winning filmmaker Robert Snyder. Most recently (2002) he was Producer on an 85-minute documentary on the life and work of Pablo Casals, Pablo Casals: A Cry for Peace, and in 2006 he was Producer, Editor and Associate Director on a 54-minute film on Henry Miller's watercolors, Henry Miller: To Paint is to Love Again. His other films include Michelangelo: Self-Portrait, a highly aclaimed documentary that was shown nationaly on PBS after a theatical release, and Claudio Arrau: A Life in Music, Ruth Asawa: Of Forms and Growth, Willem de Kooning: Artist, The Vatican Collection, and This Is Henry Miller From Brooklyn to Paris. He studied acting and directing at Lawrence Merrick’s Studio with Joan Huntington and Robert Broyles, has a BA in Theater Arts and an MA in cinema. He resides in Santa Barbara, California. |
